SOUTHERN GOSPEL CONCERTS ’Äì The Sound Advice Quartet, a Topeka based Southern gospel quartet will be celebrating its 4th anniversary by hosting three nights of Southern gospel concerts. In addition, the Dixie Melody Boys from Kinston, North Carolina will be featured on Friday night; the New Horizons from Lebanon, Missouri, with special guest Larry DeLawder from Branson, Missouri on Saturday night; and the Lesters from St. Louis, Missouri on Sunday night. All concerts begin at 7 p.m. at the Fairlawn Church of the Nazarene, 730 SW Fairlawn. A free will offering will be optional.
BUSKER FEST ’Äì Buskers are street performers who interact with assembled crowds for tips and to share their skills. The Lawrence Arts Center will be the headquarters for the festival. Artists from around the country can be seen along Mass Street on Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday afternoon, downtown Lawrence.

MULVANE ART MUSEUM - "Persian Visions - Contemporary Photography from Iran" an exhibition that provides a rare and revealing view of Iranian life through photographs by renowned Iranian photographers. The exhibit concludes Aug. 24.
